Scott Gibson-Assistant DPW Superintendent, Division of Water and Sewer-The Flint Michigan water crisis was a public health crisis that started in 2014 after the drinking water of Flint Michigan was contaminated with lead. Many of the City of Ithaca buildings contain lead pipes that supply municipal water to them. The City Water and Sewer department has now been mandated to replace these lead water lines typically at the homeowners expense. To learn more about this mandate and how the Water and Sewer department will try to implement the water line replacements please attend this meeting. In addition to the lead pipe replacement discussion Scott will also update us on the new water meter replacements as well as who owns and services what regarding water and sewer services to your buildings.

Jay Franklin -Director of Tompkins County Department of Assessment.
Jay will have 2 mini presentations to present. They are titled “Tax Levies, Tax Base, and meet the Quotient – the Tax Rate” and also “2024 AEM Program – Who/Why/How/When/What”. Jay will discuss the interaction between the tax levy and the tax base, and who is responsible for developing each one. In the next mini presentation, Jay discuss what we did for the 2024 Annual Equity Maintenance Program including why we are doing this, how we did it, and the results of it.
