The LATC Board is working hard to address the new legislation proposed by the Senate (bill S8125A) which relates to suspending rent payments for certain residential tenants and small businesses for 90 days
A document regarding this issue was sent to Mayor Myrick and all City of Ithaca Common Council members in advance of their 6:00 meeting on April 1 2020. After that evenings Common Council meeting, preparations will be made to send a ( perhaps revised ) copy to all Tompkins County Legislators and several state officials including Governor Cuomo.
During a recent LATC Board of Directors meeting, discussions also included partnering up with other NYS landlord groups and possibly engaging the services of Albany New York - based attorneys and lobbyists to further promote our position. With all of these efforts, it is clear that our Board feels strongly about our LATC members interests.
